As a crossing guard I’m out in the elements a lot and winter ? can be difficult. I need to be alert ? for traffic as I cross the children and bulky clothing can be difficult for movement as look for on coming traffic. The vest is light weight yet warm enough for me to move around. It should be noted that I do wear outerwear over the vest ( in my case a reflective jacket) but not a heavy coat. Heated clothing often needs an additional layer to keep the heat from radiating out, especially if it’s sub freezing weather. Use common sense here and the heated vest will do the job as expected. Another thing to consider is the battery. I bought the upgraded version (20 hour) just to be safe. The battery is put into the left side pocket just above the wast. You will notice it immediately. Depending on your physical condition, small, large, tall, short ,etc the comfort level will vary. There is no magic formula here. I would suggest one possible suggestion for the manufacturer, design more than one battery pocket for the battery. Give the buyer a second chance were to store the battery. Thus, giving the customer another way to find a comfort level for the battery storage device. Of course this would be more expensive…just a thought. Conclusion, I’m very satisfied.
